Francis W. Olschafskie is an internet system designer having developed many web based first line technologies. He has held executive leadership roles in successful technology companies in the imaging and Internet fields. He specializes in bringing complex revolutionary technologies through to widespread product success. His responsibilities have included managing the technology development process; leading the technology development and creative teams; researching new technologies, and ensuring that the technology developed meets the rate of technological change.
Mr. Olschafskie has been the President at Exit Computers, a Principal at Streamline Communications, and Vice President and Chief Technical Officer at Bridgeline Software. Mr. Olschafskie's responsibilities included all aspects of the company, directing the company's growth from inception to the deployment of several breakthrough products.
 
Mr.Olschafskie is a pioneer of the computer graphics industry. He was a founder of Lightspeed Computers in the mid-1980's where he worked with clients that included Apple, Digital, and Barco Industries, designing computer systems for the Graphic Arts, Multimedia, Video, Scanning, OpticalCharacter Recognition, Internet industries and Electronic Publishing.
Francis's training is in imaging and did his graduate work at the Visible Language Workshop at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Media Lab. He has held faculty positions at New York University, and the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
Currently Francis is a faculty member at Boston University has also been a research associate at the Center for Urban Regional Policy at NorthEastern University where he developed interactive data management and acquisition systems for the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service in Washington and the Boston Renaissance Resource Kit.
Francis has been awarded a number of patents from the U.S. patent office and has patents pending in the U.S. and Japan in the area of electronic publishing, internet solutions, and image acquisition.
Mr Olschafskie is the Executive Director and President at Setforth Research Institute.
